About the event
This LA born, Detroit bred singer-songwriter started her musical journey in Latin
America at age 23. As an ambitious self taught musician, she got her chops by accompanying the locals on their busking trips throughout buses, street markets, and local cafeterias. For this reason, she attributes the two years that she spent living in Guatemala as her main form of music school.
Upon her return to Detroit in 2015 she recorded her first solo album, Brisa Del Mar. The album featured musicians that she had met through busking in the NYC subways. She continued to develop her craft in Detroit while aggressively hitting the local music scene. It was then that she met her mentor Sean Blackman, who introduced her to the genre of world music. In 2017 she was nominated for a Detroit Music Award for outstanding vocalist in World Music.
